Adolescent Syrian girls empowered to mitigate early marriage

Happy to welcome representatives of the embassy of Canada during the 2nd day of the intensive 8 days training workshop about child marriage targeting adolescent girls from #Syrian community in #Lebanon.

Those 25 girls, between 13 and 18 years old, are being trained to become leaders capable of disseminating information on early marriage to their peers, and work towards mitigating and responding to early marriage in their communities.

This workshop is within “Enhanced families and service providers capacities to promote safe motherhood and empower women and girls in #Lebanon” project, funded by the Government of Canada and implemented by The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering-RDFL in partnership with UNFPA.
