Berri refers the proposed law on the protection of children from early marriage to the Administration and Justice Committee for discussion

President Nabih Berri, the speaker of Lebanon’s parliament, has referred the proposed law on the protection of children from early marriage, to the Administration and Justice Committee for discussion. It is noteworthy that this step came after the launch of the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering- RDFL campaign “#NotBefore18” and after 7 months of the law proposal, prepared by RDFL and submitted by MP Elie Kerouz, being put in the drawer of the parliament.

Thanks to all those who supported and worked on this cause. Together we continue the struggle to ensure that the proposed law is discussed, and that the protection of children from early marriage is recognized in the General Assembly of the Parliament.
