Under the patronage of the Minister of Social Affairs Dr Hector Hajjar, RDFL recently marked International Women\u2019s Day by launching the \u201cNational Study on Child Marriage in Lebanon\u201d during a significant event attended by Deputies from parliamentary committees, trade union and media bodies, local and international organizations. The study, conducted by Ipsos-Lebanon across all Lebanese governorates with 1300 samples, revealed alarming statistics. The launch event featured a dialogue session involving representatives from the Ministry of justice, social affairs, education, health, and media. MP George Akis made a commitment to expedite the legislative process of the law determining the age of marriage by proposing its transfer from the parliamentary Human Rights Committee to the joint committees directly.<\/p>\n
