It aimed to shed light on the attitude of Lebanese society towards child marriage, its causes and side effects. The study also surveyed the opinion of the Lebanese people in regard to the State and what role it should play in ending this practice, for example passing legislation raising the legal age for marriage for girls to 18 years. The importance of this study is based on the fact that it is the first study that deals with the views of the Lebanese society regarding child marriage and the proposed laws related to it. This poll was conducted by Statistics Lebanon Ltd. from 21 March 2018 to 10 April 2018. Face-to-face interviews were conducted. The sample was drawn using a proportional distribution technique.

To check and download the complete study, press here.

The study was conducted by the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering- RDFL in partnership with UN Women and Save the Children, under the overall framework of the UN Women Men and Women for Gender Equality Programme, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
