
Empowering Women and Girls Through Psychosocial, Legal, and Awareness Sessions in Douris and Deir Al-Ahmar
As part of the project “Enhancing Protection and Capacities for Behavioral Change Among Youth, Women, and Men” funded by Trocaire, the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL) organized a series of sessions and activities aimed at empowering women and youth and raising community awareness during the first quarter of 2025.
At RDFL center in Douris, psychosocial support sessions were conducted over a full month for 60 women aged between 18 and 60. These sessions covered diverse topics such as gender and social roles, self-esteem and confidence, goal-setting, violence and protection methods, negotiation skills, effective communication, and problem-solving. Additionally, awareness sessions titled “Post-War Psychological Stress” were held for 20 women.
RDFL also conducted social support sessions for 32 girls aged 14–17 at Deir Al-Ahmar Public High School. Furthermore, legal sessions were organized for 36 women, in collaboration with Mr. Mohammad Araji, Head of the Legal Committee, addressing legal approaches to domestic violence cases and how to deal with them.
