RDFL and the National Coalition Discuss Efforts to End Child Marriage

As part of the advocacy efforts led by The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL) to end child marriage in Lebanon, and within the framework of the “Not Before 18” campaign, a consultative meeting was held with the National Coalition to Protect Children from Early Marriage. The meeting focused on the legal framework and ongoing illegal practices taking place outside official courts, stressing the importance of raising awareness in schools and health centers.

Participants also emphasized the need to engage parents, parliamentarians, and youth in advocacy efforts, and to review personal status laws to address existing legal loopholes. collective recommendations were made to support unified efforts toward adopting a law that protects children from early marriage and ensures their right to a safe and healthy childhood.
