RDFL Participates in the “Women Peacebuilders: From Challenges to Change” Conference through Board Member Baria El Zein

The Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering (RDFL), represented by board member Baria El Zein, took part in the “Women Peacebuilders: From Challenges to Change” conference. The event was organized by Beity Association and UN Women, under the patronage of General Raed Abdullah.

The conference brought together participants from three Arab countries, including Colonel Diala Mokhtar representing Lebanon, retired Brigadier General Mohammad Ahmad Al-Zoubi from Jordan, and Brigadier General Ali Ajimi Rasool from Iraq. The event also witnessed a notable presence of civil society representatives.

The conference served as a participatory space to present the common challenges women face in peacebuilding processes and to explore mechanisms for driving positive change at both the local and regional levels.

The Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering is a secular non-governmental women organization which works with the democratic forces and represents a part of the advocacy secular democratic women’s movement, on the basis of international pacts and treaties, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Universal Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in order to promote women’s status and participation and empower them, aiming at achieving full equality between both sexes.
