The Philippine Embassy in Beirut Celebrates Women’s Month 2025 in Collaboration With RDFL and OWWA, Focusing on Empowering Filipino Women in Lebanon

On March 2, 2025, the Philippine Embassy in Beirut, in collaboration with the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering (RDFL) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA), launched the Women’s Month celebration under the theme: “2025 Women in All Sectors, Building a Better Tomorrow for a New Philippines.”

The event provided a wonderful opportunity to highlight the role of Filipino women in Lebanon and society in general, through discussions and presentations led by RDFL, which focused on empowering women and recognizing their tangible contributions across various fields. The Embassy’s Gender and Development team also reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote gender equality, empowerment, and the welfare of Filipino women in Lebanon.

The Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering is a secular non-governmental women organization which works with the democratic forces and represents a part of the advocacy secular democratic women’s movement, on the basis of international pacts and treaties, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Universal Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in order to promote women’s status and participation and empower them, aiming at achieving full equality between both sexes.
