A Participatory Gender Study to Enhance Women’s Participation in Baalbek and Jeb Jenin

As part of the SPAII Programme, implemented by RDFL in partnership with ActionAid Arab Region in Baalbek and Jeb Jennine, a Participatory Gender Analysis Study was conducted to understand the social norms and power dynamics that affect women’s lives, including their mobility and safety, access to economic opportunities, and participation in decision-making within the family and community. As a follow-up to the study, RDFL’s Bekaa Branch conducted a validation session with members of the Core Group and the project team to discuss the study’s key findings and recommendations and assess how accurately they reflect local realities and needs in Baalbek and Jeb Jennine. The session also focused on translating the findings and recommendations into practical ideas and initiatives led by the Core Group, with the aim of strengthening women’s participation and responding to the priorities identified through the study. The study adopted a participatory methodology, engaging 12 young women researchers through 7 focus group discussions, 15 individual interviews, and a survey involving 39 women.
