In the occasion of International Women’s Day, The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering participated in interactive seminars organized by the Association Najdeh.

In the occasion of International Women’s Day, The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering participated in interactive seminars organized by Association Najdeh under the title “Partners in Struggle, Partners in Decision-Making”, one was held in Al Galilee camps, where RDFL’s former president, Ms. Laila Mroue represented The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering, and the board member Ms. Kamal Charafan represented RDFL in the seminar held at Burj al Barajneh camp. The interventions focused on the struggle history of women, and the legal violence they are subjected to in Lebanon because of the personal status laws, the labor law, and other laws that are unfair to women.

The Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering is a secular non-governmental women organization which works with the democratic forces and represents a part of the advocacy secular democratic women’s movement, on the basis of international pacts and treaties, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Universal Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in order to promote women’s status and participation and empower them, aiming at achieving full equality between both sexes.
