International recognition for RDFL on its Golden Jubilee, marking half a century of defending women’s rights and building peace.

In its fiftieth year,
We at RDFL are proud to have received the Second Prize for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding in Lebanon for 2026 from the French Ghazal Foundation for Research, Education, and Peace and Fondation de France, which this year chose the issue of domestic violence against women and girls as the focus of the award, received by the RDFL’s .President, Leila Mroueh
This international recognition comes in RDFL’s golden jubilee, reflecting fifty years of collective struggle and resilience in defending the rights of women and girls and combating gender-based violence. During her speech, President Leila Mroueh affirmed: “It is a profound international and humanitarian acknowledgment that our struggle against gender-based violence is, at its core, a struggle for true peace. Since its founding in 1976, RDFL has been a collective space of activism, led by its presidents and comrades in struggle workers, volunteers, and activists who faced challenges and made tangible differences in the lives of women in Lebanon.”
Congratulations to RDFL its leadership, members, and staff. We affirm that this recognition is a new driving force to continue our struggle for a Lebanon that is more just, peaceful, and humane.
