RDFL participates in the Beirut Advocacy Event on Rights and Accountability

RDFL, represented by Dr. Caroline Sleiby, participated in the Beirut Advocacy Event under the Women Leading Change project at the Lebanese University, under the theme “From Commitment to Institutional Change.”

Dr. Sleiby joined the roundtable “Institutional Governance, Rights and Accountability,” addressing civil society’s role in advancing women’s rights reforms, challenges in implementing laws, and the importance of accountability and cooperation between public institutions and civil society.

The event highlighted the importance of gender-responsive leadership, institutional reform, and university municipality cooperation across the Mediterranean.

The Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering is a secular non-governmental women organization which works with the democratic forces and represents a part of the advocacy secular democratic women’s movement, on the basis of international pacts and treaties, as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Universal Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in order to promote women’s status and participation and empower them, aiming at achieving full equality between both sexes.
