The Economic Empowerment Program for Women and Girls (Home Electrical Maintenance)
The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering organized an economic empowerment course at the RDFL’s centers in Douris and Tripoli, funded by Diakonia. The course targeted over 15 women and girls aged between 18 and 60, as part of a project to combat violence against women and girls.
The course, which electrical engineers led, covered topics such as how electricity is transmitted from power stations to homes and how to maintain personal safety when using electricity. It also included other aspects like renewable and non-renewable energy, solar panel conditions, and electrical wiring inside their houses.
The goal of the course is to empower women to work toward financial independence and enhance their economic capabilities while challenging stereotypical roles.
